The Swiss Confederation is a faction in Empire: Total War that was cut from the final release of the game.
In real life, the Switzerland is located between Italy, Germany, France, and Austria--depicted in-game as the wild, mountainous area west of Austria and north of Savoy. It would've been in the Alpine region of the game between France and Austria and under Wurttemberg, which is currently wilderness.
Although the Swiss Confederation was cut from the final game, some units (including Swiss Infantry and Swiss Guard) are available to train for some factions.
