Semenys are a type of mob in Empire: Total War.
Description[]
Arming the people is something that leaders find detestable and frightening,necessary perhaps, but certainly unwelcome.
These people are the common populace with whatever dangerous weapons they can obtain by fair means or foul. If a leader has reached the point of asking his people to act as this kind of militia, things are indeed desperate! If the governed have reached this point on their own, then matters are truly desperate for their leaders!

Semenys are mob troops available to the Ottoman Empire. They may be recruited like any other unit, or automatically spawned to defend a region if its capital is attacked. Compared to Musellims, who often spawn beside them, semenys are vastly inferior in numbers but make up for this somewhat with the fact that they are armed with muskets. Their numbers and their weak capabilities make them similar to Firelock Armed Citizenry. They make good garrison troops due to their cheapness but are easily routed in battle.
