Scotland

Scotland is a minor faction in Empire: Total War. It is an emergent faction. It can rise up and rebel in the region of Scotland. Unusually for a minor faction, Scotland has a unique unit in its roster: Clansmen.

Unit Roster

Scotland has a largely generic European roster. However, it does have access to Hessian Line Infantry, Chasseurs Britanniques, Ferguson Riflemen and Life Guards--a trait shared by the roster for Great Britain.

Contrary to what logic might suggest, Scotland does not have access to most Scottish units such as the Royal Ecossais, Scots, and The Black Watch.

History

Historically, Scotland and England had many bloody wars for territory and sovereignty. Scotland was officially integrated into Great Britain in 1707, and has been part of Great Britain (now the United Kingdom) ever since.
